Summer Meals for Kids in Ephrata & Cocalico
Making Sure Kids Have Reliable Lunch Access During the Summer
When school is out, we know that finding consistent, healthy meals can be a challenge for many families. At Community Hive, we are working alongside local churches and organizations to make sure kids in our community have reliable access to lunch during the summer months.
Summer Meal Programs for Kids in Ephrata & Cocalico
Community Hive (formerly Ephrata Area Social Services) is coordinating local efforts to provide free, nutritious summer lunches for children in the Ephrata and Cocalico regions.
- City Gate Program (Ephrata): Providing lunch bags every Tuesday and Thursday for 11 weeks, from June 9 through August 20. Distribution runs from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at 100 E. Main St., Ephrata, PA.
- Acts of Love Program (Cocalico): A community effort providing meals on Wednesdays from June 11 through August 13. Distribution occurs from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at four park locations: Adamstown Grove, Denver Park, Reamstown Park, and Reinholds Park.
- Additional Assistance: For further food support, contact Real Life Community Services at 717-336-7797 or Community Hive at 717-733-0345. For specific questions regarding the Acts of Love program, call Real Life Community Services at 717-336-7797, option 1.
1. Ephrata Area: City Gate Summer Lunch Program
We are partnering with City Gate to provide lunch bags to local children every Tuesday and Thursday.
- Location: City Gate, 100 E. Main St., Ephrata, PA 17522.
- Schedule: Every Tuesday and Thursday for 11 weeks (June 9-August 20).
- Time: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.

2. Cocalico Area: Acts of Love Summer Lunch Program
We are joining the Cocalico Ministerium to bring free meals to local parks throughout the Cocalico area.
- Schedule: Wednesdays: June 11, 18, 25; July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; August 6, 13.
- Time: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm.
- Locations:
- Adamstown Grove: 339 W. Main St., Reinholds, PA 17569.
- Denver Park: 801 W. Main St., Denver, PA 17517.
- Reamstown Park: E. Church St., Stevens, PA 17578.
- Reinholds Park: 5 E. Main St., Reinholds, PA 17569.
